About

Beach Bar Agia Anna — known locally as Byammo — is a beachfront bar on Agia Anna, one of the most popular sandy stretches on Naxos' southwest coast. Located about 6 km south of Naxos Town, it's positioned directly on the sand with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a straightforward menu of cocktails, cold beers, and light bites. The vibe is relaxed rather than clubby, and the bar stays open from morning until early evening.

What to Expect

Byammo runs a row of sunbeds right at the waterline and serves drinks and snacks to beachgoers throughout the day. The cocktail menu covers the standards — mojitos, piña coladas, spritzes — alongside Greek beers, soft drinks, and iced coffees. Food is limited to toast, sandwiches, salads, and Greek mezze plates; this is a beach bar, not a full taverna. Service is casual, and most people order from their sunbed or walk up to the counter.

The setting is the draw: shallow turquoise water, fine-grained sand, and mountain views to the east. Agia Anna is less developed than Agios Prokopios to the north, so the beach here still has breathing room even in July.

How to Get There

From Naxos Town (Chora), drive or take the bus south toward Agia Anna village. The beach is signposted just before the main village cluster. Beach Bar Agia Anna is on the central section of the sand, between the village parking area and the water — look for the blue-and-white umbrellas and the "Byammo" sign.

There's free roadside parking along the approach road, or paid organized parking closer to the beach during high season. The bus from Naxos Town to Agia Anna runs regularly in summer and drops you within 100 meters of the bar.

Tips for Visiting

  • The bar is open 9am to 7pm daily, so you can grab an iced coffee in the morning or a sundowner before dinner.
  • Sunbed rental (two beds + umbrella) is around €10–15 per day; confirm the price before settling in.
  • Bring cash — card payment isn't always guaranteed at beachfront setups.
  • The beach faces west, so late afternoon light is excellent for photos and the water stays warm through sunset.
  • If you want a full meal, walk 5 minutes into Agia Anna village where several tavernas serve grilled fish and Greek classics.

Best Time to Visit

Byammo operates from late May through September. June and early September offer warm water, reliable sunshine, and fewer crowds than peak July-August. Afternoons from 4–6pm are prime time: the heat eases, the wind often drops, and you can watch the sun dip toward Paros on the horizon while nursing a cold drink.
