Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Greek Island Platforms Single Member P.C. (GEMI 195743338000, VAT No. 803382933), registered office Naxos 84300, Greece, which operates Greek Island Buses ("GIBS"). By accessing and using GIBS you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Service Description and Who You Are Contracting With
Greek Island Buses is a platform for buying bus tickets on Greek islands. The journey itself is always operated by the local bus company named on your ticket, not by us. That operator’s conditions of carriage, timetable changes and cancellation rules apply to your journey.
Payment is handled in one of two ways, and your ticket and receipt show which one applies to your purchase. (a) Greek Island Platforms Single Member P.C. processes the payment through its own payment account and issues the receipt for your ticket under its own Greek tax registration (Α.Φ.Μ. 803382933). (b) Where the bus operator has connected its own payment account, that operator receives your payment directly, issues the receipt under its own tax registration, and is responsible for its own ΑΑΔΕ (myDATA) reporting and VAT; in that case we receive only a commission for providing the platform.
In both cases the transport service is supplied by the bus operator, and refunds are assessed against that operator’s cancellation rules — see our Refund Policy.
3. Ticket Purchases
All ticket purchases are subject to availability. Prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) and include applicable taxes. Tickets are non-transferable unless otherwise stated.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Please refer to our Refund Policy for detailed information about cancellations and refunds.
5. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account.
6. Limitation of Liability
GIBS shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, or service changes made by bus operators. Our liability is limited to the ticket purchase price.
7. GDPR Compliance
Greek Island Buses operates in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679. We process personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently. We collect only the data necessary to provide our services and do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.
8. Data Processing & Legal Basis
We process your data under the following legal bases: (a) contractual necessity — to fulfil your ticket purchase and provide transport services; (b) legitimate interest — to improve our platform and prevent fraud; (c) consent — for marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time; (d) legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements under Greek and EU law.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hellenic Republic (Greece) and applicable European Union regulations. Any disputes shall be subject to the competent courts of Naxos or Syros, Greece. EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence under EU Regulation 1215/2012. Before going to court you may refer a dispute to the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή), www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
