About

Santana Beach Club sits directly on the sand at Agia Anna, about 6 km south of Naxos Town. The Kapris family opened it in 2009 and has steadily expanded it into a full-day beach destination with a restaurant, bar, sunbed service, and a small boutique selling island fashion.

What to Expect

The setup is classic beach club: rows of sunbeds and umbrellas facing the water, a raised dining area under a pergola, and a bar that stays open from breakfast through midnight. The kitchen serves Mediterranean dishes with a focus on fresh seafood—grilled octopus, catch of the day, Greek salads, pasta. Cocktails and local wine anchor the drink menu. Evenings bring DJs or live music during high season, and the vibe shifts from relaxed daytime lounging to a livelier sunset crowd.

Agia Anna is a long, sandy beach with shallow, clear water. Santana's sunbeds are available for a fee (standard across most organized Naxos beaches), and you can order food and drinks to your spot. The boutique section sells beachwear, jewelry, and accessories if you need a cover-up or a last-minute swimsuit.

How to Get There

From Naxos Town, drive or take a bus south toward Agia Anna. The beach is well-signed off the main coastal road. Santana is near the middle of the Agia Anna strip, recognizable by its white and wood pergola structures. Parking is along the roadside; arrive before 11 AM in July and August to find a spot easily. The bus from Naxos Town stops at Agia Anna several times daily in summer.

Tips for Visiting

  • Book ahead for dinner if you're coming on a weekend in peak season—tables fill up by 8 PM.
  • Sunbed minimum spend applies during high season; confirm the current rate when you arrive.
  • Bring cash for small purchases at the boutique, though cards work at the restaurant and bar.
  • Sunset timing: the beach faces west, so stay for the 7:30–8:30 PM light show if you're there in summer.
  • Footwear: the walk from the road to the sunbeds is sandy; flip-flops or barefoot works fine.

Best Time to Visit

June and September offer warm water, fewer crowds, and lower sunbed minimums. July and August bring the full club atmosphere—music, packed loungers, and a younger international crowd. If you want a quiet meal, aim for a weekday lunch in early June or late September. Santana opens daily from 8 AM to midnight throughout the season (roughly May to October), serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

What's Nearby

Agia Anna beach extends in both directions, with several other beach bars and tavernas within a 5-minute walk. The small village center has a mini-market, a bakery, and a few rental shops. Agios Prokopios beach is 1 km north—a slightly busier, equally sandy alternative. Plaka beach, one of the longest on Naxos, starts about 2 km south and offers a quieter, less organized stretch of sand.
