Santana Beach Club & Restaurant

About
Santana Beach Club & Restaurant occupies a stretch of golden sand at Agia Anna, roughly 8 kilometres south of Naxos Town along the island's west coast. Founded by the Kapris family in 2009, it has grown from a straightforward beach bar into a full-service lifestyle venue — with a restaurant kitchen, a boutique selling island fashion, and a music programme that runs into the night.
With a 4.1 rating across more than 1,800 Google reviews, it draws a consistent crowd of both day-trippers and guests staying in the Agia Anna and Agios Prokopios corridor, two of Naxos's busiest beach resort areas.
What to Expect
The setup is classic beach club: sun loungers arranged on the sand, a bar accessible whether you're wet from the sea or sitting down to a full meal, and a kitchen that handles everything from a midday snack to a proper dinner. Agia Anna beach itself is a fine-sand stretch with calm, shallow water — well suited to families and anyone who prefers to wade rather than dive.
The food leans into Mediterranean and Greek classics with a modern touch: think fresh seafood, salads built around local Naxian produce, and grilled mains. Cocktails are a particular draw, and the bar stays active well past the dinner hour. A 2015 architectural renovation tightened the aesthetic, and a 2021 repositioning pushed the venue further toward what it describes as a lifestyle destination. A boutique on-site sells a curated selection of island clothing and accessories.
Service is table-side on the sand or inside the covered restaurant area, depending on how much shade you want.
How to Get There
By car or scooter: Agia Anna is a straightforward 15-minute drive south from Naxos Town on the main coastal road. Parking is available in the village, though in July and August spaces fill up early in the morning.
By bus: KTEL Naxos runs regular services from Naxos Town bus station to Agia Anna throughout the summer. The stop is a short walk from the beach. Check current timetables at the station or online, as frequency increases in peak season.
On foot or by bike: From Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna is walkable along the coastal path — around 20 minutes on foot. Cyclists can follow the same route.
No entrance fee applies; the beach is public. Sun lounger hire is available directly through Santana.
Best Time to Visit
Santana is open daily from 8:00 AM to midnight throughout its season. Mornings are the quietest time to arrive — you can claim a good lounger, swim in glassy water, and have coffee or breakfast before the beach fills. The late afternoon shift, from around 5:00 PM onward, brings a different atmosphere: the heat softens, the light turns amber over the water, and the bar transitions into cocktail and music territory.
July and August are the busiest months on the Naxos west coast. If you're visiting then, arriving before 10:00 AM is the practical move for securing space. May, June, and September offer the same conditions with noticeably thinner crowds.
Tips for Visiting
- Book a table for dinner if you plan to eat a full meal in the evening — the restaurant section fills up in high season, especially on weekends.
- Bring cash as backup. Cards are accepted, but smaller orders at a busy beach bar sometimes move faster with cash.
- Check the boutique if you need beach-appropriate clothing — it stocks island-focused fashion rather than generic tourist gear.
- The water at Agia Anna is shallow close to shore, which makes it one of the better stretches on this coast for children or for sitting in the shallows.
- Parking pressure peaks between 10:00 AM and noon. If you're driving, aim to arrive before 9:30 AM in August.
- Contact directly at +30 2285 042841 or [email protected] for group bookings or questions about the music schedule.
A Little History
The Kapris family opened Santana in 2009, at a time when Agia Anna was already an established beach destination but lacked a venue with serious food credentials. The 2015 renovation transformed the physical space into something more considered, and the 2021 evolution shifted the emphasis toward the full-day and full-evening experience the venue now offers. A further transformation is announced for 2026, described as a new era with a refined kitchen and an expanded boutique — so the venue is likely to look different from one season to the next.
