Street Café

About
Street Café is an all-day café and bar on Andrea Papandreou in Naxos Town, open from 6:30 AM until half past midnight every day of the week. It serves specialty coffee, fresh juices, brunch plates, handmade pastries, and cocktails in a relaxed setting that works equally well for a morning espresso or a late-night drink.
What to Expect
The menu covers the full arc of the day. Mornings start with filter coffee, iced espresso drinks, fresh juices, and hot chocolate. Brunch runs through the afternoon and includes handmade omelettes, pancakes, club sandwiches, baguettes, and fresh-baked sfogliate (puff pastries). Light and dietary-friendly options are available for those watching their intake. From late afternoon onward, the café shifts to cocktails, wine, and beer, alongside snacks. Everything on the food menu is prepared fresh daily with selected ingredients.
The atmosphere is laid-back rather than polished — this is a neighborhood spot that locals use as much as visitors. Seating is indoors and on the pavement along Andrea Papandreou, the main road that runs parallel to the waterfront just inland from the port.
How to Get There
Street Café is a three-minute walk from the Naxos Town ferry terminal. Exit the port gate, turn left onto the waterfront promenade, then take the first right onto Andrea Papandreou. The café is on your left within 100 meters. If you're staying in Chora, walk toward the main road that runs behind the harbor — you'll pass supermarkets and pharmacies on the same street.
Tips for Visiting
- Arrive before 9 AM if you want a quiet table for coffee and breakfast — it gets busier as the morning progresses
- The pancakes and handmade omelettes are made to order, so expect a short wait during brunch hours
- Outdoor seating is along a busy road; ask for a table inside if you prefer less traffic noise
- They accept cards, but smaller cafés on Naxos sometimes have card machine issues — carry a few euros just in case
- The kitchen closes earlier than the bar, so if you're coming late for food, call ahead to confirm
What's Nearby
Street Café is one block inland from the waterfront and a five-minute walk from Naxos Old Town's marble lanes and boutiques. The Naxos Archaeological Museum and the Portara landmark are both within 10 minutes on foot. Several car and scooter rental offices are on the same street, making this a practical stop before or after picking up a vehicle. Agios Georgios Beach, the town beach, is a 10-minute walk south along the coast.
Best Time to Visit
Morning (7–10 AM) is the most peaceful window, especially if you want to sit outside and watch Naxos Town wake up. Brunch service is strongest between 10 AM and 2 PM. The cocktail crowd picks up after 7 PM, and the café stays lively until close. The long opening hours make it a reliable fallback if you arrive on an early ferry or need a late-night drink after most other places have closed.
