About

Studios Panos is a family-run self-catering property on Agiou Georgiou, the main beach road in Naxos Town, positioned just 20 metres from the shoreline at St. George Beach. Renovated in 2018, it offers a range of studios and apartments suited to couples and families of up to five people — all within walking distance of the port, the old town, and the causeway to Palatia island.

With a Google rating of 4.8 from 92 reviews, Studios Panos consistently earns praise for personal attention and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that larger hotels rarely match.

What to Expect

The property offers six room types: Standard Double Studios, Deluxe Double Studios, Junior Suites, Deluxe Apartments, Sea View Suites, and a Luxury 2-Bedroom Apartment. Every unit is fully equipped for self-catering — kitchen or kitchenette, bathroom, and the basics you need to come and go on your own schedule. The Sea View Suite and upper-floor units face the Aegean, giving you a direct look out over St. George Bay.

St. George Beach itself is the only proper sandy beach within Naxos Town. It's a long, gently shelving stretch of fine sand with clear, shallow water — calm enough for children and well-organised with sunbeds and nearby tavernas. Having the beach literally across the road makes the location hard to argue with, particularly for families who don't want to drive to a beach every morning.

The family-run character is a recurring theme in guest feedback. The owners manage the property directly, which tends to mean faster responses to requests and local knowledge you can actually use — restaurant recommendations, ferry timing advice, day-trip suggestions.

How to Get There

On foot: If you arrive at Naxos Town port, walk south along the waterfront promenade for roughly 10–12 minutes. The beach road, Agiou Georgiou, runs parallel to the sand and Studios Panos sits right on it.

By bus: The KTEL bus station is at the port. Local buses and taxis are readily available for the short hop to St. George Beach, though most guests find it easy to walk.

By car: Coming from the airport (about 3 km south of town) or from the rest of the island via the main Naxos–Apiranthos road, follow signs into Naxos Town and then toward Agios Georgios beach. Street parking is available along Agiou Georgiou, though spaces fill quickly in July and August.

By ferry: Naxos Town port is the main ferry hub for the island, with regular Blue Star Ferries and SeaJets connections from Piraeus, Mykonos, Paros, and Santorini. The property is walkable from the ferry terminal.

Best Time to Visit

Studios Panos is open for the main tourist season, which on Naxos runs from late April through October. July and August bring the highest temperatures (mid-30s°C), the busiest beach, and the strongest meltemi winds in the afternoons — which actually make St. George Beach more comfortable than more sheltered bays during a heat peak. June and September offer a better balance: warm water, quieter beach, and more availability at competitive rates. If you're travelling with children, late June or early September are arguably the best windows.

Tips for Visiting

  • Book early for sea-view rooms. The Sea View Suite and upper-floor apartments are the first to go in peak season. Contact the property directly at [email protected] or call +30 2285 026078 to ask about availability and current rates.
  • Pack light for the beach. With the sand 20 metres away, there's no need to haul a full beach kit far — but bring your own beach towels, as not all self-catering properties supply them; confirm this when you book.
  • Use the kitchen. Naxos Town has a fresh-produce market, a bakery, and several supermarkets within a 10-minute walk. Self-catering even one or two meals a day makes a meaningful difference to your trip budget.
  • Walk to the old town in the evening. The Kastro neighbourhood and the Venetian old town are about 15 minutes on foot along the waterfront — worth doing at least once after dark when the alleyways are lit and the crowds thin.
  • Ask the owners for a restaurant tip. The family knows the local scene well and can point you toward whichever taverna is currently good rather than just the ones with signs on the beach road.
  • Parking in August: If driving, aim to park before 10 am. The street in front of the beach fills quickly on peak summer days.

What's Nearby

St. George Beach is lined with tavernas and a couple of beach bars, most serving straightforward Greek food — grilled fish, salads, cold beer. The Naxos Town waterfront, five minutes north on foot, has a broader mix of cafés, restaurants, and shops. The Portara — the famous marble gateway on the islet of Palatia — is visible from the northern end of the waterfront and takes about 20 minutes to walk to from Studios Panos. For day trips, Naxos has a well-developed bus network reaching inland villages like Halki and Filoti, and the island's west coast beaches (Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, Plaka) are 5–15 minutes by car or bus.
