About

Logaras Beach sits on the eastern coast of Paros, a short distance from the fishing port of Piso Livadi. The bay curves gently, keeping the water shallow and relatively calm even when the meltemi is blowing across the Aegean — which makes it considerably more pleasant on windy afternoons than the exposed west-facing beaches on the other side of the island.

The beach holds a 4.4-star rating from over 300 Google reviews, which for a low-key local beach on Paros is a reliable indicator of consistent quality rather than hype. It draws a mix of families, couples, and Greek visitors who return year after year, partly because it doesn't attract the large party crowd that gathers at Pounda or Golden Beach.

Access is straightforward, the surrounding area is walkable, and Piso Livadi's tavernas and cafes are within easy reach on foot. If you want a beach day that doesn't require planning or early arrival to claim a spot, Logaras is worth putting on the list.

What to Expect

The shoreline at Logaras is a mix of fine sand and small smooth pebbles, typical of the eastern Paros coast. The water enters slowly and remains shallow for a good stretch out from the shore, which suits confident swimmers and those who prefer to wade before committing to deeper water equally well. The color shifts from pale turquoise in the shallows to a deeper blue-green further out.

The beach is oriented to face roughly east-southeast, which means it catches the morning sun fully but sits in partial shade earlier in the evening. On hot July and August afternoons, the eastern exposure is an advantage — the direct midday glare is less brutal than on south-facing bays.

The surroundings are low-key. The beach is backed by low scrub, a narrow road, and a small cluster of accommodation and eating options. It doesn't have the dramatic cliff backdrop of some Cycladic beaches, but the setting is tidy and uncluttered. Umbrellas and sunbeds are typically available for hire during the main summer season, though the exact operators and current pricing should be confirmed on arrival.

The bay is small enough that it never feels impersonal, but large enough that it doesn't feel packed even on a busy August weekend — as long as you don't arrive at peak midday.

How to Get There

From Paros Town (Parikia), the drive to Logaras takes around 20 to 25 minutes via the central road through Marpissa or the coastal road through Piso Livadi. The distance is roughly 18 kilometers.

If you're staying in Naoussa on the northern coast, allow around 25 to 30 minutes by car, heading southeast through the island's interior.

Parking along the road near Logaras is available and generally manageable outside of peak August weeks. Arrive before 10:30 on summer mornings to get a spot close to the beach without difficulty.

The KTEL bus network on Paros connects Parikia to Piso Livadi with several departures daily during summer. From the Piso Livadi stop, Logaras Beach is a 10-to-15-minute walk south along the coast road. Check current KTEL schedules locally or at the Parikia bus station, as timetables adjust seasonally.

Taxi service is available from Parikia and Naoussa to Logaras. Agree on the fare before departure or confirm the meter is running.

The beach road is paved and flat at the access point. The shore itself has some mixed sand-and-pebble texture that may require water shoes for comfort, particularly for those with sensitive feet.

Best Time to Visit

Logeras Beach is at its best from late May through early October. June and September offer the strongest combination of warm water, comfortable air temperatures, and thinner crowds. The Aegean water temperature around Paros typically reaches a comfortable swimming temperature by late May and remains warm into early October.

July and August are busy across all of Paros, but Logaras sees fewer visitors than the more heavily promoted beaches like Kolymbithres or Monastiri. On a peak August weekend, arrive before 10:00 to secure a good position. By early afternoon, the beach will be at capacity.

The meltemi — the seasonal north wind that sweeps the Cyclades from mid-July into August — can make the west coast of Paros choppy and uncomfortable. Logaras, sheltered by its eastern orientation and the angle of the bay, handles these conditions better than many alternatives, making it a useful fallback on windy days.

Morning light on the eastern coast is clear and cool, ideal for swimming before the heat builds. Late afternoon and evening are quieter as most visitors leave, and the light over the water is good in the hour before sunset.

Tips for Visiting

  • Come early in August. By 11:00 on peak days, both parking and sunbed availability become competitive. An 09:00 arrival gives you a real choice of position.
  • Bring water shoes. The mixed sand-and-pebble entry can be uncomfortable barefoot, especially further from the waterline.
  • Use it as your meltemi fallback. If you've planned a beach day at Santa Maria or one of the north-facing bays and the wind has come up, Logaras is one of the more sheltered alternatives on the east coast.
  • Combine with Piso Livadi. The fishing port is a short walk or drive away and has several seafood tavernas that are straightforward, good-value options for lunch or early dinner.
  • Check sunbed availability on arrival. During the main summer season there are typically umbrellas and loungers for hire, but confirm the current operator and price before settling in.
  • Snorkeling is worthwhile. The clarity of the water on the eastern Paros coast is reliable, and the rocky sections toward the edges of the bay typically hold more marine life than the sandy center.
  • The beach is good for children. The gradual depth increase and calm conditions on most days make it a practical choice for families with young children who need predictable, manageable water.
  • Walk south along the coast. The road and path leading south from Logaras toward Drios passes several small coves that are worth exploring if the main beach is crowded.

Activities and Facilities

Swimming is the primary activity at Logaras, and the calm, clear water is well-suited to it. The gradual entry and shallow near-shore zone make the beach accessible for all levels of confidence in the water.

Snorkeling around the rocky fringes of the bay can be productive. The eastern Paros coastline generally has good underwater visibility, and the mix of sandy bottom and rocky outcrops around Logaras supports small fish and sea urchins. Bring your own mask and fins — there is no indication of equipment rental at the beach itself.

Sunbeds and umbrellas are seasonally available for hire, typically operated by a local beach bar or taverna during summer. The specifics of what's on offer — drinks, food, equipment — should be checked on arrival, as operators change from season to season.

There is no organized water sports infrastructure at Logaras. For jet skis, paddleboards, or boat rentals, the larger facilities at Piso Livadi or Golden Beach nearby are more likely options.

The beach itself is free to use. Access is open and unrestricted.
