Gavdos

Gavdos is the southernmost island of Greece, in the Libyan Sea south of Crete, with around 150 registered residents and a reputation for free camping and remote beaches. Public transport is a small local service rather than a formal bus company: it follows the island's single road between Karave port, Korfos, Sarakiniko and the southern villages, meets ferry arrivals at Karave and takes cash only. Service is minimal and highly seasonal.
