Ithaca

Ithaca is the small Ionian island known as the home of Odysseus in Homer’s Odyssey, with its capital and port at Vathy at the head of a deep bay. Bus travel amounts to one line between Vathy and the northern villages, through Platrithias to the harbour village of Kioni. Local sources describe a weekday-only service with very few departures, so most visitors fall back on taxis, hire cars or boats.
