Salamina

Salamina is the island closest to Athens, facing Perama across a narrow strait, and is known as the site of the 480 BC naval Battle of Salamis; it functions more as a commuter suburb than a resort. Every KTEL Salaminas route begins at Paloukia ferry port, so passengers step off the boat straight onto the network, which fans out north to Faneromeni, west to the beaches, and south-east to Ampelakia and Selinia.
