Greek Islands
Symi
Symi is a small Dodecanese island near Rhodes, known for the tiers of neoclassical mansions rising around Yialos harbour, built on 19th-century sponge-diving wealth. Public transport is one shuttle route worked by a small private minibus: Yialos harbour up to Chorio, the old upper town, and down to the bay at Pedi, then back. The Panormitis monastery on the south coast is served separately, not by this shuttle.
