How to Get Around Corfu by Bus (2026 Guide): Routes, Stops, Times & Fares
Corfu is large, green and far easier to cross without a car than its size suggests — as long as you board the right colour of bus. Two companies share the island: green intercity coaches to the resorts and villages, blue urban buses for Corfu Town, the airport and the sights just outside it. Greek Island Buses maps 9 routes and 16 stops, and this guide explains which colour goes where, what each charges and what catches visitors out.
The Corfu bus network at a glance
The most useful thing to know about buses on Corfu: there are two networks, they leave from different places in Corfu Town, and they do not even price tickets the same way. Get it wrong and you wait an hour in the wrong square.
Green buses — KTEL Corfu, for the rest of the island
KTEL Corfu (Yperastiko KTEL Kerkyras, Υπεραστικό ΚΤΕΛ Κέρκυρας, known to everyone as the Green Buses, ktelkerkyras.gr) runs the long-distance network from its own terminal on Eptanisou Street, inland from the New Port. Anywhere past the capital's suburbs — Paleokastritsa, Sidari, Kassiopi, Glyfada, Kavos — is a green bus, at a fixed fare per route. Routes carry letter codes: A north, B south, X to the mainland. Station number +30 26610 28900.
Blue buses — Corfu Blue Buses, for town, airport and Achilleion
Corfu Blue Buses (Astiko KTEL Kerkyras, Αστικό ΚΤΕΛ Κέρκυρας, trading as Corfu City Bus, astikoktelkerkyras.gr) runs the urban network from San Rocco Square (Plateia Sarokou) — not the green terminal — on a two-zone flat fare. Blue is the colour for the airport, the New Port, Kanoni, the Achilleion Palace and the villages ringing the capital. Its number is +30 26610 31595. Rule of thumb: blue within half an hour of the capital, green beyond it. The two meet at the green terminal, which Line 15 calls at between the airport and San Rocco.
Main Corfu bus routes
Corfu Airport ↔ San Rocco Square ↔ New Port (blue Line 15): the airport bus, a flat €1.30 and roughly every 20 minutes through the middle of the day; it calls at the green intercity station en route — route details.
Liston / Spianada ↔ Kanoni (blue Line 2a): the most frequent line on the island, from the Ano Plateia beside the Liston out to Kanoni for the view over Mouse Island — route details.
Corfu Town ↔ Achilleion Palace (blue Line 10): the bus to Empress Elisabeth's palace at Gastouri, €1.80 in the dearer Zone B; it leaves from Mitropolitou Methodiou rather than San Rocco, and some runs continue to Faliraki before returning by the Perama road — route details.
Corfu Town ↔ Paleokastritsa (green A9): the busiest green line, out to the cliff-backed bays of the north-west and the monastery above them; €2.80 and 45 to 60 minutes via Gouvia and Tzavros — route details.
Corfu Town ↔ Sidari (green A2): the far north-west resort, its sandy bays and the Canal d'Amour; €4.10 and about an hour and a quarter direct, longer via Roda or Acharavi — route details.
Corfu Town ↔ Roda ↔ Acharavi (green A3): two north-coast resorts on one line, long shallow beaches under Mount Pantokrator; €4.40 — route details.

Getting from the airport or the port
Corfu's Ioannis Kapodistrias airport (CFU) sits just south of the capital, and blue Line 15 is the public link into town, running airport – green bus station – San Rocco Square – New Port and back for €1.30. Corfu Blue Buses runs 44 departures a day out of the airport and 38 back from the port, to one timetable seven days a week: half-hourly from 07:30, every 20 minutes from about 09:20 until 18:00, then half-hourly until 22:00. Allow 10 minutes from the airport to San Rocco Square and 20 to the New Port — but 40 minutes port-to-airport and 25 to 30 from San Rocco, because the inbound run loops through town first.
Ignore the €1.10 you may still see. Corfu Blue Buses' own "Connection with the airport" page still quotes €1.10, and €1.70 on board. Those are pre-March-2026 prices: the operator raised the Zone A fare to €1.30 on 20 March 2026 and never updated the airport page.
Not every departure does the full run — some terminate at San Rocco — so check the timetable. And because Line 15 calls at the green terminal, you can step off the airport bus onto a green coach for Paleokastritsa, Sidari or Kavos without crossing town.
Tickets and fares
Green intercity buses charge a fixed one-way fare per route, and KTEL Corfu prints it against every route on its master timetable: Aqualand €2.20, Glyfada, Agios Gordios and Ermones €2.70 each, Paleokastritsa €2.80, Boukari €3.40, Sidari €4.10, Kassiopi €4.30, Roda and Acharavi €4.40, Arillas €4.80, Agios Stefanos €5.00, and Kavos €5.30, the dearest run on the island. The cross-island S5 from Sidari to Kassiopi, which saves doubling back through the capital, is €3.70. Buy at the kiosk in the Eptanisou Street terminal before boarding; on the bus it is cash only.
Blue urban buses use two flat zones instead, at prices in force since 20 March 2026. Zone A — the town, the port, Kanoni and the airport — is €1.30, or €0.80 for students, pupils and large families. Zone B — the Achilleion, Pelekas, Benitses, the Ypsos–Dassia–Gouvia coast, Aqualand — is €1.80, or €1.00 reduced. A day ticket is €5.00; ten-trip carnets and 30-day passes are sold too. Tickets bought on board cost more, by an amount the operator does not publish, so buy beforehand.
Where an operator has joined Greek Island Buses you can buy the same ticket online at the same price and board with a QR code on your phone. Corfu's two companies sell their own, and KTEL Corfu's booking site does not say which island routes it covers, so check the route pages.
The last bus to Kavos does not reach Kavos
Read this one twice if you are staying in the far south. KTEL Corfu's own per-trip notes on the B1 mark the last departure of the day out of Corfu Town — 20:30 Monday to Saturday, 19:30 on Sunday — as running only as far as Agios Prokopios, and the last buses back — 22:00 Monday to Saturday, 21:00 on Sunday — as starting from Agios Prokopios too. The final bus of the day never touches the Kavos stop in either direction.
Agios Prokopios is about 2 km short of Kavos, so anyone standing at the Kavos stop waiting for the 22:00 will not be picked up, with nothing later that night. Walk up in good time, or treat the previous departure as your last one home; the notes are printed against each trip on the Kavos route page.
What catches people out
The wrong terminal. Turning up at San Rocco for a bus to Paleokastritsa, or at the green station for the Achilleion, is the classic Corfu mistake. Check the colour first, then the departure point.
Other short-turning runs. Besides the Kavos night buses, the 05:15 to Kassiopi stops at the junction rather than the village, and Line 2a's first morning departures start from San Rocco, not the Liston. Read the notes on the route page.
Unlisted village stops. Green buses stop in places whose times are not printed — Moraitika and Lefkimmi on the Kavos line, Gouvia and Tzavros on the Paleokastritsa line. Tell the driver as you board.
Sundays and public holidays. On the blue network the Sunday column also covers public holidays, so a bank holiday runs a Sunday service. Line 15 is the exception: the airport bus keeps one timetable seven days a week.
Season changes arrive quietly. Both operators publish timetables valid "from" a date without saying when they end — the current green sheet from 25 July 2026, the blue Line 15 sheets from early July. Blue timetables also move mid-season: the network was reissued from 22 June 2026, Line 6 to Benitses again from 3 August. Re-check the Corfu timetable close to your travel date. When a bus runs late, KTEL Corfu has a live departure board on its website and Corfu Blue Buses an app showing bus positions.
Buses to the Greek mainland
The green operator also runs the X-coded coaches off the island by ferry: Athens €52.50, Thessaloniki €40.60, Larissa €33.10, Kalampaka for Meteora €25.70, plus Arta and Agrinio. Book those ahead, from the same terminal.
